Nerd gushing. So I’m doing a bit of ‘checking’ to see if my character’s voice is right and I thought, 'well [X] wouldn’t use words of more than 4 syllables.’ so I wanted to find a quick way to check for words of more than 3 syllables while I’m doing my edit. If you copy your MS content into wordle(.com) you can extract a file which tells you all the words you’ve used and how many times. This is interesting on it’s own… but I am now employing (totally of his own volition, I might add) my other half who has knocked up a piece of code that has analysed the output and listed every word in my MS by number of syllables. EPIC. KNOWLEDGE. WIN. I think we just owned Sunday.
